Notre Dame of Fatima

It was social work, especially among the youth of the area, that pointed up the need for a new Parish in this section of Yarmouth Town. That work, with the aid of the Sisters of Assumption, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and others, greatly expanded, is still carried on.

The first sod was turned in 1960, and, on, August 13, 1961, the church was solemnly dedicated by the Bishop, the late Most Reverend Albert Lemenager, in the presence of a huge concourse of priests, guests and interested citizens.
