Saint PeterSaint Pierre , West Pubnico, Nova Scotia The Parish of St. Peter, Pubnico was established by the revered Father Sigogne, "the Apostle to the Acadians," in 1816, and included both sides of the Harbour. The first church was erected, at Lowe West Pubnico, in 1816: the second, a few hundred yards from the site of the first, traces of its foundation still remaining in the old cemetary, was blessed in 1841. Some of its materials went into the building of the glebe-house at East Pubnico. The present Church, certainly one of the most beautiful in the Diocese and serving some 2,000 people, was established at Middle West Pubnico, in 1892. At the rear of the church is the grave of Rev. Lloyd D'Entremont, a son of the Parish, as Superior of St. Ann's College one of its ablest, and the first native of Yarmouth County to become head of a University. Mass Hours:Saturday 4 p.m. in French and Sunday at 9:30 a.m. biligual service. ![]() St. Peter's ,West Pubnico, Nova Scotia |
